PLACES OF WELCOME

‘Come round to Our Place!’ is our message about ‘Our Place’ every Monday between 9.30 am –11.30am in the church lounge and all are welcome!

Volunteers serve free hot drinks and refreshments – but as Our Place coordinator Angela Harriss says, this is about so much more than a cup of coffee and a biscuit.

“You will be guaranteed a warm welcome, a smiley face and someone to chat to if needed,” she said.

Part of the national “Places of Welcome” initiative, Our Place  welcomes anyone, regardless of their circumstances.

“We want to be a real church in the community and we recognise there are people who are lonely and are in social isolation in the area,” she explained. “We are trying to meet the needs of those people, to get them involved and try to give them a sense of purpose,” she added.

Places of Welcome is a national growing network of local community groups providing their neighbourhoods with places where all people feel safe to belong, connect and contribute. A Place of Welcome offers the neighbourhood a place where everyone can go for a friendly face, a cup of tea and a conversation if and when they need it.

Everyone welcome so do pop in. NCT buses 8 & 9 stop nearby.

If you know somebody living close to St Paul's who might benefit by coming along why not give them a leaflet which you can download here. You might even bring them along yourself.

Places of Welcome nationally have the following guiding principles which we were happy to sign up to:
