Community Wellbeing Hub
St. Paul’s Community Wellbeing Hub grew from a simple yet powerful vision: to create a space for social eating and to tackle the growing challenge of loneliness in our local area. Since opening our café doors in March 2022, the project has blossomed beyond anything we may have dreamed. What began as a part-time community café has expanded into a vibrant, seven-day-a-week schedule of invitation, welcoming around 200 people through the doors each week. A significant milestone in our journey came in 2023, when we were thrilled to secure National Lottery funding, a testament to the impact the Hub was already making. This support allowed us to deepen our holistic approach to wellbeing—focussing on the mind, body, and spirit of our community. Today, our offering has "exploded" to include everything from a community garden and social supermarket to specialised support like our Memory & Movement dementia support group and our Grief Café. At the heart of this success is our incredible team. We have grown from a small group of founders to a dedicated family of over 120 volunteers. It was their commitment and generosity that led us to win the Health and Wellbeing category at the 2026 Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards—a moment that truly shone a light on the "behind-the-scenes" heart of St. Paul’s. Whether it’s through a shared meal, a quiet moment in the garden, or a friendly chat over a coffee, our aim remains the same: to reduce isolation by offering a warm space, a friendly face, and a place where everyone can find joy, friendship, and authentic connection.
"Thank you for all you do here-the community groups are so helpful, and I love the exercise. It is so important and it gets me out of the house."

Our aims
Build community
We bring people together through shared efforts and social interaction. By offering recreation, leisure, and meaningful connection, we aim to enhance the local quality of life and foster a sense of belonging for everyone.
Reduce isolation
We tackle loneliness across all generations by providing a diverse range of activities. Through cultural, social, and artistic engagement, we help individuals develop new skills while building lasting friendships.
Address the cost of living
We provide practical support through social eating, a warm community space, and our donation-led social supermarket. Our focus is on relieving financial pressure through shared meals and helpful community education.
Enhance wellbeing
We support mental and physical health by partnering with local experts and healthcare teams. From dementia support to mental health resources, we work with community organisations to provide a holistic network of care.

"The community hub is not just a social food hub. Since it has opened I have met some wonderful people and we enjoy having a coffee or two...We have a chat and laugh, it brightens my day!"
Volunteering
We are always looking for volunteers to join us! We believe that everyone can make a difference, and we invite you to use your unique gifts and experience to help build a flourishing local community. Whether you're helping out behind the counter or supporting the wide variety of groups and activities we host each week, you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team—and you certainly won’t be bored!
We are passionate about being a place where anyone can find their place. If you're someone who needs a little extra support, or a person navigating a difficult season, or simply feel that traditional roles haven't quite fit you in the past, our door is open.
"It has changed my life. I can’t imagine where I would be right now if it weren’t for the group of people I see each week at the hub."

Support the hub
If you wish to support us financially - firstly thank you! Our Community Hub is a non-profit venture and everything we do here is made possible through a combination of generous donations and community grants. Your support matters and makes a real difference to people in West Bridgford and beyond.
