Groups and activities

We want to invite you into our everyday community life, whether that's through a social group, a creative space, or a wellbeing project. This page highlights some of our key activities, but our full diary is much bigger! To dig a little deeper and discover exactly what’s on this month, click through to explore the calendar.

Memory & Movement

Support for those with memory challenges

Fridays, 10.30am-12.15pm

No booking required

Memory & Movement is for anyone who would like support with their memory challenges, and particularly beneficial for those living with dementia. We engage with a different theme each week to spark thoughts and memories, and to inspire creativity and joy. We also do gentle movement exercises to build strength and stability. From time to time we take trips out in our community minibus - these are always a highlight! St Paul’s has a free car park, step-free access and accessible toilet facilities. Memory & Movement is completely free but if you wish to make a donation towards running the group and maintaining our community minibus you can do so using the donation station inside Café on the Corner. Thank you!

Grief Café

For anyone who has lost someone

Every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, 2.15pm

No booking required

Living with grief can be overwhelming. Would it help to talk about it? Come and join us, have a cuppa and a chat with others who are grieving too, or see one of our experienced grief support volunteers for one-to-one support. We make time to remember our loved ones in special ways, such as planting flowers in Spring and making personalised decorations at Christmas. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member along with you for support. Do come and join us.

Social Supermarket

Food and essentials each week

Mondays, 10am-12pm

No booking required

Welcome to our pop-up market - reducing waste and redistributing surplus. Every Monday volunteers collect surplus food (and sometimes flowers) that would otherwise have been wasted from shops and supermarkets. It's all fresh and good quality, and we offer it to anyone who would like to come and collect some. Each item has a suggested donation amount, but it's really up to you if you'd like to donate for what you take away. All donations go back into supporting the project. There's lots of variety each week, and we generally have a great selection of fruits and vegetables, bakery bread and pantry staples. When the weather is fine we set up outside, and on rainy or cold days we'll be inside the church halls. Come along and say hi, we are open to everyone!

No Boundaries Community Garden

For all to grow and gather

Drop-in sessions Tuesdays 10.30am-12pm and Fridays 1-4pm (April-September)

No booking required

Established in December 2022, our community garden occupies previously unused and unloved space next to the church car park. Now in our 4th year of growing, the garden is flourishing thanks to fantastic community support! It is a space for everyone to enjoy peace and nature, for us to grow fresh food and for people to enjoy and learn about gardening. It also contributes to our status as a Bronze Eco Church and demonstrates our commitment to nature and the environment. Produce from the garden is used in our café kitchen and since it is a community garden you are welcome to take a little away with you to use and eat at home. Join us to help maintain the space at drop-in sessions from April to September.
